The Quirky Style of Christie Spaces

SHARE

Throughout our six properties nationwide, one of the most striking features of Christie Spaces is the chosen artworks and wallpaper designs in our meeting rooms, lounges and communal spaces. Much more than just colourful, statement pieces; our quirky designs highlight the contemporary style of our spaces and our community. The three main decision-makers behind these creative choices in our Sydney offices are Louise, Anthony & Steve. We showed them some of our more notable designs to get the reasoning behind such creative choices!

Louise:

‘I chose the elephant pattern for my office because it reminds me of the times I travelled through Africa. In my previous job, I would save up all my leave for 6-8 weeks of travel time through Africa. On one occasion, I woke up to find an African elephant 2 metres away from the entry of my tent!’

Steve:

‘The toucan design takes me back to when I travelled the Amazon Basin in Peru. This classic wallpaper reminds me of the amazing colours these birds add to the rainforest canopy with geometric lines adding some symmetry. Their bright and colourful quirkiness is a nice change in any meeting room!’

Anthony:

‘When considering what wallpaper would work for our games room at Walker Street, we needed more colour in the room and wanted to make it feel more fun! This design seemed so appropriate for a room where our members come to have a good time and unwind!’

Steve:

‘The shark artwork reminds me of Bruce the Great White Shark in Finding Nemo and his famous quote: “Fish are friends, not food”. This piece of art is from a series called the Great Oceanic Collection, and you can find various other marine-themed pieces from that collection throughout our properties.’

Anthony:

‘Robert (The Christie Spaces Founder & CEO) actually picked the coral design! He really liked the colours and pattern, and thought that it helped make the room look more fun and inviting for our members.’

Anthony:

‘The hummingbird design reminded me of a David Attenborough documentary. The striking contrast of the black background and colours is also just so fascinating to look at!’

Louise:

‘This reminds me of the drawings from Alice in Wonderland and the dreamy eccentric style of that story and its visuals. It seemed like a fun and stylish pick for some of our common spaces and meeting rooms!’

Steve:

‘This is really quirky and fun wallpaper. It captures the essence of British eccentricity perfectly. The framed black and white scenes show animals in various human setups with typically British sayings underneath and splashes of colour. It’s quite the conversation starter!’
